Send Postcard

To send a postcard through PostGrid, you need to provide both sender and recipient information, along with details about the mailing itself.

Sender and Recipient requirements

For postcards, the Recipient details are required while the Sender details remain optional.

You have options to fill in First Name, Last Name, and Company Name. At least one combination is required, either First Name & Last Name or Company Name.

Next, you need to complete the address information, which includes Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, State, Postal Code, and Country Code .

Please note that the Country Code must be provided in the two-character ISO31661 Alpha-2 format

Mailing requirements

In addition to sender and recipient details, you must also define the specifics of your mailing.

Description field is used internally to help you identify the letter later.

Template Source determines how your letter is generated. You can choose any of the following options:

  • HTML: You can enter the letter template HTML code in the Template Value.
  • PDF URL: You can put the publicly accessible PDF URL in the Template Value
  • PostGrid Template ID: You can put the Template ID of a template you've created in your PostGrid account. When using a Template ID, postcards require both a Front Template ID in the Template Value and a Back Template ID in the Template Value Two. You can learn more about PostGrid Template Editor here.

Also, please note that your template should follow PostGrid Design Guidelines for print readiness, which you can find here.

You can then select the Size of your postcard and choose from the available Mailing Classes provided by PostGrid. You can learn more about different mailing classes here.

Personalized postcards

Finally, PostGrid supports personalization by letting you add Merge Variables to your template. You can map the variables you have defined in your template to actual data fields in your scenario. Up to ten key-value pairs can be configured for this purpose, enabling highly tailored content for each recipient.
